“If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing badly.”

This may be the mantra here at Another Benedict for a while, as the site evolves into what it is supposed to be.  G.K. Chesterton penned this back in 1910 in his fantastic book What’s Wrong with the World.  You can read more about the quote here.  Chesterton is one of the two main influences that propelled me into the Church (Thomas Merton being the other; more on him later….)

Speaking of things worth doing, you may have noticed the one and only portion of this site that actually has some content built out is the Horarium section.  This is the actual horarium that I try to keep each day and it will be a main character here at Another Benedict.  I practically never keep it perfectly, but it represents what I think is a reasonable prayer commitment for my days.

It’s late and 4:30 comes awfully early….
